To make it nice and simple for you to change the used categories for the Top Feature and Main columns sections on the front page of AmberGreen Pro and AmberGreen, we use the functions.php file. In the image below you can see which area is which on the front page. This is the same on AmberGreen and the Pro version, except on the free version there is no Adsense and no images in the feature columns.

To set your used categories you need to open functions.php from within the AmberGreen Pro theme folder with a text editor and find the following lines at the top of the page:

<?php $topfeature=”XXX” ?>

<?php $colcat=”YYY” ?>

Simply change XXX for the number of the category you wish to use for the Top Feature and YYY as the category number for the Main Columns and your all done. Any time you want to change the categories in the future, just change those numbers. No need to edit any other theme files for these two variables.
