Installing
Simply upload the themes folder (keeping the structure intact) to your blogs theme folder. Once this is done, go to your admin panel and you will see the new theme has been added to your site. Simply activate the theme – as you would with any other- and it will be working.
Once the theme is operating, you will see you still have a link to 42k Theme Options. You can still select and change all of the variables from that theme and the results will filter onto 42k Wide Boxes as well.
Note: The only changes that will not take effect are ones such as front page layouts, location of sidebar on some pages and similar items.
Custom Images
One of the great things about Wide Boxes is the use of custom field images along side each post. These are easy to add and look great on your site, giving a large visual sign for each of your posts to draw users attention to the subject.
The images are added in the usual custom field way and have a Name of 350×200-image and measure 350px wide and 200px tall. We do encourage you to make your images that big before you upload them to avoid images being stretched.
If you are unsure as to how to upload and add custom fields please see this tutorial.
custom image Default
To make sure none of your posts are ever without an image, there is a default fall back image which will show on the blog post when no other image has been added for that post.
By default this image is a nice image of London, which you probably don’t want on your blog! So you can change that easily to a new image more suited to your blog. Just simply create your image (Again sized to 350px wide and 200px tall and it must be in the PNG format which all good image editors will create)) and name it default.png Then simply upload this image to the theme images folder which will be located at; yoursite.com/wp-content/themes/42k-wide-boxes/images
This new file will then overwrite the old default version and you will now have a new fall back default image.
